100 Nights Of Hero May Secretly Be One Of 2025’s Best Movies With Enduring Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

100 Nights of Hero appears to be a quiet forthcoming fantasy release from A24, but could it actually be a masterpiece of its genre? Based on Isabel Greenberg’s graphic novel, 2025’s 100 Nights of Hero debuted with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, but movies do not typically hold on to this status for long. However, Julia Jackman’s movie is proving to be an interesting case.

100 Nights of Hero stars Maika Monroe, Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Charli XCX, Amir El-Masry, Richard E. Grant, and Felicity Jones. It follows noblewoman Cherry (Monroe), whose husband Jerome (El-Masry) makes a bet with his seductive friend Manfred (Galitzine) to test her fidelity. However, Cherry’s maid Hero (Corrin) tries to pull Manfred’s attention away from Cherry.

Normally, a movie that debuted with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes would see its Tomatometer drop as more reviews came in. Notably, despite 100 Nights of Hero having its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 6, it didn’t accrue enough reviews to get an initial score until mid-October. Now, the number of critical reviews has nearly doubled, going from 10 to 19.

Remarkably, 100 Nights of Hero‘s Rotten Tomatoes score is still 100%. Critics praise the movie’s fairy tale production design, quirky script, and performances. “Gender, sexuality, status and power are all in flux here,” says The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw, “a playful effect that is however withdrawn when we arrive at the sacrificial seriousness. It is a sweet tale which floats self-consciously out of the screen.”

Interesting, several critics acknowledge the movie’s faults, but suggest that if this genre and writing style are something that viewers can accept or enjoy, it’s otherwise perfect. “The film’s flaws are pretty much all front-loaded into the almost aggressively twee prologue, and if you can handle that, the rest of the film should be plain sailing,” says Damon Wise of Deadline Hollywood Daily.

100 Nights of Hero looks to be a very niche genre film, which will be beloved by fans of quirky, whimsical fantasy and A-list actors taking on unique roles. The movie hits theaters on December 5, ahead of the biggest Oscar contenders releasing on Christmas Day, allowing 100 Nights of Hero its time to shine before other buzzy movies take over.

100 Nights of Hero continues to drift under the radar, as it was clearly not the biggest attraction at Venice. But the enduring strength of its reviews suggests people may not be paying it the attention it deserves. 100 Nights of Hero could still shock everyone, gaining good word of mouth from the start and taking over cinemas for a time in December.
