Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, Dele Oladeji, says the party will be happy to receive Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, should he formally declare for the platform to chase his second-term ambition in the 2026 off-cycle election.

Oladeji spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday, hours after Adeleke quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing protracted leadership crises and internal instability.

In the interview, Oladeji stressed that Accord remained poised and expectant, “We are waiting for his declaration. That is what we can say for now. We are waiting for when he will declare for Accord.”

He added that the party’s doors were already open, “In Accord, we are ready for him. Whenever he decides to step in, we are set to receive him.”

Oladeji positioned Accord as a haven devoid of political turbulence, insisting the party offered the stability Adeleke reportedly seeks ahead of the polls, “Accord is a very stable and sanitised political platform. We have no factions and no godfathers.”

He underlined the peace-factor guarantee for new entrants, “Any candidate who joins us between now and 2027 is sure of a peaceful and dependable structure.”

He said the absence of internal wrangling, godfather politics or structural confusion makes it attractive for serious office seekers.

Naijaonpoint understands that Adeleke, who is aiming for a second tenure in the 2026 contest, is actively considering a more stable political platform that can support his 2026 re-election bid

Oladeji reaffirmed support and readiness to deploy party machinery if Adeleke takes the step, “If he decides to step in, we will be ready to work with him and ensure his success.”
