The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has moved to strengthen its grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections by inaugurating the party’s Membership, Revalidation, Mobilization and Registration, MRMR, Committee.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the ADC National Headquarters in Abuja, was led by the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark, and attended by members of the National Working Committee, NWC, party leaders and other key stakeholders.
While administering the oath of office, Mark charged the committee members to carry out their responsibilities with fairness, diligence and a strong sense of accountability.
He emphasized that the committee’s work is strategically important for consolidating the party and preparing for future political challenges.
Members were directed to complete the assignment within 30 days and submit a comprehensive report to the party leadership.
“The work of this committee will energize ADC’s grassroots base, deepen our democratic culture, and prepare the party for future political opportunities,” Mark said, adding that the MRMR initiative reflects the party’s commitment to leadership and democratic governance.
A key feature of the initiative is the unique MRMR membership card, which will serve as both a verification and empowerment tool for members.
“The card ensures that every member is: Validated – confirming official membership status, Mobilized – engaged and informed about party activities, Empowered – equipped to actively participate in grassroots politics.”
According to Mark, the card will strengthen ADC’s grassroots structure nationwide and position the party strategically for the 2027 elections.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Kashim Imam, chairman of the committee, expressed gratitude to the national chairman and ADC leadership for their confidence in the members.
He assured that the committee would work diligently to fulfill its mandate within the stipulated timeframe.
