Youths of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State have publicly rejected the re-election bid of Jimi Odimayo, the lawmaker representing the Okitipupa-Irele Federal Constituency.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday, the youths led by Adewale Adefua said the time has come to change their representative at the National Assembly.
The youths noted that an aspirant for the legislative seat, Bidemi Obayangban, Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Forestry, would be make a better representative.
“We have seen the positive impact Hon. Obayangban has made in our community. It is time for a change, and we believe he is the right person to represent us,” Adefua said.
Also speaking on the issue, Ajibade Omogunoye, a youth leader in the area, said, “We are backing Obayangban because of his humility and passion for our people. We believe he can bring about the change we need despite our kinsman, Odimayo, seeking reelection.”
