A former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose was on Monday sighted at the political party rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado-Ekiti.
Fayose, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was spotted at the rally throwing his support for the governor of the state, Biodun Oyebanji, and his deputy for a second term in office.
He was sighted at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti donning an Ankara up and down outfit with a black PDP facecap.
Speaking during the rally, the former governor announced his endorsement and total support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid.
He said, “I want to join all well-meaning Nigerians, particularly Ekiti leaders and followers, to endorse publicly without reservation, the President and Commander of the Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu, for a second term and to equally endorse our Governor, Abayomi Oyebanji, and his deputy for a second term.”
He also described the ongoing event as a unique one.
The former governor further used the opportunity to deny reports that he had defected from the PDP to the APC.
