Former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje says leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have resolved to begin public endorsements of President Bola Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Naijaonpoint reports that Ganduje made the remark at the final session of a four-day strategy meeting he convened at his residence in Kano, which brought together APC chairmen, caucus members and key stakeholders from all 44 local government areas.
Ganduje said the consultations were aimed at rebuilding trust within the party and strengthening internal cohesion ahead of 2027.
According to him, “The purpose of this meeting over the last three days has been to ensure complete unity in our party from top to bottom and to reaffirm our solidarity with the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He said the turnout and commitment displayed by delegates from across the state reflected their determination to keep the APC dominant in Kano and nationally.
The former governor disclosed that party executives from the 44 LGAs had requested clearance to begin open declarations for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
“We have resolved that all local governments in the state should gather their party officials, stakeholders and supporters to make a public pronouncement endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our sole candidate for 2027,” Ganduje announced.
He directed that all APC offices across LGAs and wards be immediately reopened and made fully functional to enhance grassroots mobilisation.
Ganduje added that the party would soon deploy ICT experts ahead of the APC’s digital registration exercise, which is expected to begin shortly.
The former governor reminded party members that Kano had once delivered the highest APC membership figures in the country and must reclaim that record.
“Each local government is to provide three computer experts who will be trained at the state headquarters and deployed for the e-registration exercise. We assure you that, once again, Kano will produce the highest number of registered party members,” he said.
Ganduje also urged party officials to intensify mobilisation for the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), encouraging eligible citizens, especially first-time voters, to register early.
He stressed that the APC in Kano must remain organised, fully mobilised and strategically positioned as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
