2027: Look At Tinubu’s Political Trajectory, What Tells You He Cannot Change Shettima? – Sambo Reacts To Musawa’s Warning

Tinubu and Shettima

Editor for Politics at Arise News, Sumner Sambo, has suggested that nothing can stop President Bola Tinubu from dropping Vice President Kashim Shettima, given his political trajectory.

Naijaonpoint reports that Sambo made the remark while reacting to the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, warning that dropping Shettima from Tinubu’s re-election ticket could have political consequences.

However, Sambo, while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show, recalled that President Tinubu, during his tenure as Lagos State governor, frequently changed his deputies.

He argued that Tinubu is capable of replacing Shettima if he considers it politically expedient.

While acknowledging that Musawa’s concerns were partly valid, Sambo noted that national politics differ significantly from state-level calculations.

He said, “On that of the Hanatu Musawa, I don’t think she would have slept fine after that statement. And we all know what has happened. If you look at the political trajectory of President Tinubu while he was a governor, he changed his deputies.

“So what tells you that he cannot change Shettima? But President Tinubu should actually be very, very careful, because what he’s trying to do is to continue to assert the hegemony of the South-West and then the North-West. If indeed he’s going the way we are hearing, it’s likely going to be a North-West person that will become a vice presidential candidate of his, that may likely be a minority Christian.

“Yeah, she got some of ...ulations, very, very right, but I think Tinubu is all setting his eyes on the ball, and of course, he would want to calculate, what he did in Lagos may not actually be applicable at the national level.

“But does President Tinubu like being told the truth? Well, it’s left for those who are APC watchers to actually say that, because he likes himself as a master political strategist. And if he does make this mistake, I can tell you that the ADC will capitalize on it.”
