2027: ‘Peter Obi Is Topping Discussion On List Of Candidates In North’ – Ex-IPAC Chairman, Ameh

Obi

Former Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Peter Ameh, has stated that the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has dominated public discourse and currently tops the list of potential candidates for the 2027 presidential race.

Naijaonpoint reports that Ameh, who spoke on Politics Today on Channels Television on Thursday, said that the North are giving a listening ear to Peter Obi in his bid to become Nigeria’s president in 2027.

According to Ameh, Nigerians should consider the compassion and character of potential candidates in relation to their ability to manage public resources, as the country cannot afford a situation where public resources are misallocated and not directed to priority areas that would help the masses grow.

He said: “I see them (North) listening. There is no party today that is discussing which candidate should run that Peter Obi is not topping the list even with surveys.

“The clear point today and everybody knows is that when it comes to public discussion, Peter Obi has taken over and he is in charge of the dynamic leading to the 2027 election.

“It pains me today that we talk about North and South. In the last election, 44 per cent was what Peter Obi got in the South and 15.2 per cent in the North. If you show Kwankwaso’s result today, he got around one million in the entire country.

“It’s not about the fact that somebody is from the Southeast or Northeast. We should be looking at compassion and character and be disciplined alone to manage our public resources because you can’t have a situation where our public resources are misaligned, misallocated and they are not directed to priority areas that would have helped the masses to grow.”
