2027: ‘We’ll Resist Rigging By Every Means’ – Peter Obi

Peter Obi

Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed displeasure at how politicians publicly celebrate electoral fraud.

Naijaonpoint reports Peter Obi spoke while formally announcing his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition on Wednesday in Enugu State.

Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, vowed that any attempt to rig the 2027 election will be resisted lawfully and legitimately.

He also called for early verification of candidates’ academic records to avoid pre-election disputes.

He said, “We have all watched those who benefitted from our democracy now becoming accessories of our democracy either through coercion or gangsterism to the opposition.

“We can’t allow this to happen, we will resist it. We now see people celebrating electoral fraud publicly.

“And we are saying that those planning to rig elections in Nigeria come 2027, we will resist it by every means lawful and legitimate.”

Meanwhile, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has dismissed speculation that Peter Obi would accept the vice presidential candidacy in the 2027 elections.

Tanko dismissed such reports while speaking during an interview with Arise News on Tuesday.

According to him, Obi did not go around the world to become a Vice President, but went around the world to become the President of Nigeria.

“He said he did not go around the world to become a vice president.

“He went around the world to learn so that he can be number one — to be the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Tanko said.
