A former Minister of Information, Jerry Gana, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is working towards bringing Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, back to the main opposition party.
Gana, a founding member of the PDP, told AIT on Friday that steps are being taken to bring Obi back.
The former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, said that the party is working on luring Obi and other members of the party.
Obi left the PDP on May 25, 2022, ahead of the 2023 elections and joined the Labour Party on May 27, 2022.
He became the LP’s standard-bearer and contested the 2023 presidential election.
When questioned about whether the party had reached out to Obi regarding a return, Gana replied, “Why not?”
He added, “He [Obi] is not the only person. We are also moving to other persons. But I don’t want to announce until we really get there.
“I have a very solid platform. I can now go back to these people and say the platform you were complaining about is now set, proper, and ready to move. I know many of them would respond.”
