2027: Youth group mounts pressure on Buhari’s minister to contest for presidency

NWAJIUBA

A political group, Young Nigerian Voices, has called on Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba to consider contesting in the 2027 presidential election, citing his impressive track record and potential to address national challenges.

The call was made in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Monday by the group’s Deputy National Coordinator for North Central, Alhaji Aawul Mohammed Giri.

According to Giri, Hon. Nwajiuba’s experience and dedication to public service make him a strong contender for the presidency.

He stated that Nwajiuba’s leadership is needed to correct the “anomalies” of the present administration and drive national progress.

“As a former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Nwajiuba demonstrated his commitment to the development of Nigeria’s youth and education sector.

“His experience and expertise make him an ideal candidate to tackle the country’s pressing challenges, including issues in the economy, health, education, and infrastructure,” Giri stated.

The group stressed that their call for Nwajiuba’s candidacy is not spontaneous but a “well-thought-out decision” based on his leadership qualities, integrity, and vision for national growth.

“This is not the first time Hon. Nwajiuba has been endorsed for the presidency. In 2023, the Young Nigerian Voices also advocated for a president from the South East, with Hon. Nwajiuba as their preferred candidate,” the statement noted.

The group further stated that Nwajiuba has the ability to unite the country, drive economic transformation, and create a brighter future for Nigerians.

“Will Hon. Nwajiuba heed the call and throw his hat into the ring? Only time will tell. However, one thing is certain: Young Nigerian Voices’ endorsement has reignited discussions around his potential candidacy, and Nigerians will be watching closely,” the statement concluded.
