YNW Melly recently fired his entire legal team after his double murder retrial was postponed until 2027, and 50 Cent hopped online to express his approval of Melly’s new defence lineup.
Melly has reportedly enlisted Drew Findling, worked with several high-profile celebrities, including Kodak Black, Gucci Mane, Big Meech, Cardi B, Lil Durk, and even President Donald Trump.
“Melly gonna fvck around and come home fvcking wit Drew! That’s the right lawyer,” 50 captioned his post.
The 25-year-old rapper has been jailed since 2019 on charges that he fatally shot his close friends Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. in 2018.
Florida’s 4th District Court of Appeals ruled that Melly’s case would not proceed because the court needed more time to weigh a motion from the state attorney’s office over what evidence can be presented to the jury.
Melly’s first trial ended in a mistrial in 2023, and his second has faced repeated delays, from an investigation reportedly involving one of his lawyers to disputes over evidence, including the latest ruling.
He has remained in jail for over five years, since his arrest on February 13, 2019
