A Perfect Pairing: Cast, Plot, and Everything Else We Know

cover 5

Pack your passport and prepare for a trip to the outback with Netflix’s new film A Perfect Pairing. Starring Victoria Justice (Lola) and Adam Demos (Max), the film follows a young entrepreneur on her journey to Australia to snag her new wine company’s first client. However, it proves a bit difficult to win them over, and as she tries, sparks might also fly between the station manager training her to work on the family’s sheep farm.

The film was written by Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy. Galanoy has written several other romantic comedies for Netflix, including Falling Inn Love and Love, Guaranteed. Hackett wrote those films alongside Galanoy, meaning A Perfect Pairing is the third romantic comedy they’ve written together for Netflix. The two also wrote the Hallmark films Swept Up by Christmas and My Best Friend’s Bouquet together. Stuart McDonald directs the film. His recent work includes directing episodes of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and the upcoming Netflix project Choose Love.

This film is set to hit Netflix soon, so sit back with your glass as we tell you everything you need to know about A Perfect Pairing (though we don’t have a wine pairing list for each scene yet).

A Perfect Pairing follows Lola, a Los Angeles-based executive who quit her job with a wine company to follow her dream of starting her own wine company. To try and start her client list, she flies to Australia to meet with Vaughn Family Wines, but they aren’t interested in working with her or her new company. To show them she’s a hard worker, and worth it for them to choose and work with her company, she begins as a farmhand on their sheep farm, which is harder than it looks.

The work does not gel with Lola, who is used to working as an office executive, and a station manager named Max trains her on different tasks. In training her, the two become friends, and romantic sparks seem to fly. However, it looks like Max is hiding some things from Lola, making it difficult for her to lean into her feelings when she doesn’t know his secrets. Hopefully, viewers will see Lola start her wine company with Vaughn Family Wines as a client and a happy ending for her and Max.

A trailer has not been released yet, but one should be soon with the release date on the horizon.

Victoria Justice and Adam Demos star as Lola and Max, respectively. Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time Justice has played a character named Lola. Justice is known by audiences for performances during her youth, like Zoey 101 (where she played Lola Martinez) and Victorious. However, more recently, Justice has been in Afterlife of the Party (also a Netflix film) and Quibi’s 50 States of Fright. Demos is best known for his other Netflix projects Falling Inn Love and Sex/Life.

In addition to Justice and Demos, there are several other confirmed cast members, though not all of their roles are confirmed. According to the film’s IMDb page, Nicholas Brown is playing a character named Hamish. Brown is known for his roles in The Unlisted and Amazing Grace. Other cast members include Korey Williams (Kong: Skull Island), Luca Sardelis (Nowhere Boys), Craig Horner (Once Upon a Time, H2O: Just Add Water), Lucy Durack (Neighbours), Natalie Abbott (Aftertaste), Jayden Popik (Woke), Antonio Alvarez, Samantha Cain, and Emily Haven.

The film will be available to stream on Netflix starting May 19, 2022.

There are quite a few connections between the cast and crew of A Perfect Pairing and their other projects. It’s already been mentioned that writers Hilary Galanoy and Elizabeth Hackett have worked together on four other films, but they’ve also worked with Adam Demos before. They both wrote Falling Inn Love, and Demos starred in the film as Jake.

A Perfect Pairing’s director is working with one of Justice’s former castmates in his next project. Victoria Justice is well-known for her work on the Nickelodeon show Victorious, where she starred as Tori Vega. Avan Jogia, who played Beck in the series, is now known for his work in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and Zombieland 2: Double Tap. He is also one of the male leads of Stuart McDonald’s upcoming project Choose Love. This means the director will have worked with two Victorious cast members on romantic comedies for Netflix. Choose Love is an interactive film that was announced this past March.

A Perfect Pairing is coming to your screen soon. Until then, you can start planning what you’ll drink while you watch. It should come as no surprise we recommend something made from grapes, maybe paired with a nice cheese.

Never Have I Ever Season 3: Plot, Cast, and Everything Else We Know

season 3 subheader 2

Indian-American teen Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) is coming back to our screens soon with a new season of Never Have I Ever. Mindy Kaling’s Netflix series was renewed for a fourth and final season before season 3’s air date was even announced. With the third season’s release date confirmed, fans can start to get excited to see what will happen next for the high schoolers.

Knowing the show has a predetermined endpoint means this season could be setting up storylines that they’ll see through for the next two seasons. This gives them more room to explore other themes and more time to set up longer, more complex plot points. There are no hints as to what those could be, but we can speculate based on how the last season ended. Which, if you recall, was on a high note for everyone but Ben (Jaren Lewison).

While you wait for Devi and her friends to return, you can practice for a 24-hour relay or pick out what to wear to the next dance on your social calendar. Here’s everything we know about the next season of Never Have I Ever.

The last season left the audience with some questions. Devi and Paxton (Darren Barnet) are back together, and everyone knows about it since they danced in front of everyone at the school dance. Ben is left devastated after Eleanor (Ramona Young) revealed he was Devi’s first choice of boyfriend, not the popular swimmer. Based on the shirt her best friend is holding in the image above, maybe things with Paxton will get a bit more serious (or Devi wants them to get there). After all, it wouldn’t be the first time she tried to sleep with him.

But, there could be another wrench in Devi’s love life. Newcomer Des (Anirudh Pisharody), an Indian student that attends a private school, is being introduced this season, but his storyline isn’t known. Could Devi, or maybe Aneesa (Megan Suri), transfer to the private school? Is he someone Devi’s mom tries to set her up with? Is he simply a family friend? Only time will tell.

Devi wasn’t the only one to (re-)kindle a romance at the dance. Her cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani) and Eleanor may have new relationships bloom this season. Trent (Benjamin Norris), one of Paxton’s friends, compliments Eleanor on her performance in the play, calling her a “star” and “transcendent.” Sparks seemed to fly when he asks her to dance, and, despite calling her the wrong name, she dances with him. The two could make a great couple, especially in comparison to the guys she dated before. Kamala evades an arranged marriage proposal by dashing out of the house and to the school dance, where she meets English teacher Manish Kulkarni (Utkarsh Ambudkar). They seemed to hit it off when they met, and maybe her coming to the school’s event will push them closer together.

But where does this all leave Ben? Will he try and interfere with Devi’s relationship, break up with Aneesa, mourn his loss, or date someone else entirely? The promotional images don’t give us much to go on, as he and Devi appear to be having a friendly debate as always.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is back as Devi. If you’d like to watch more of her work while you wait, she voices Priya in the Pixar/Disney+ film Turning Red. Devi’s two best friends, Fabiola and Eleanor, are returning, with Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young (Z Nation, Legends of Tomorrow) continuing in the roles, respectively. Darren Barnet (Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles) is coming back to portray Paxton, with Jaren Lewison reprising Ben. Based on the released promotional images, Poorna Jagannathan (The Out-laws) is back as Devi’s mother, Nalini, and Richa Moorjani will continue to play Devi’s cousin Kamala. Season 2 newcomer Megan Suri is also returning to play Aneesa. It’s expected that John McEnroe, the professional tennis player, will return as Devi’s narrator.

Other cast members confirmed for the next season are Jack Seavor McDonald as Eric, the captain of the robotics team, and Benjamin Norris as Trent, one of Paxton’s friends. Though not confirmed, several characters should make repeat appearances. These include Niecy Nash as Devi’s therapist Dr. Jamie Ryan, Utkarsh Ambudkar as English teacher Manish Kulkarni, Ranjita Chakravarty as Devi’s grandmother, and Adam Shapiro as “Facing History” teacher Lyle Shapiro. Recurring cast members Dino Petrera as Jonah, Lily D. Moore as Rebecca, Christina Kartchner as Eve, and Dana G. Vaughns as Marcus are likely to appear in an episode or two, based on previous seasons.

One new cast member was announced in January by Deadline. Anirudh Pisharody is joining the cast as the recurring character Des. He’s described as “an Indian student who goes to an elite private school.”

Deadline confirmed that the new season will be available to stream on August 12, 2022.

Each season of Never Have I Ever has introduced another character’s narrator in addition to Devi’s. Season 1 introduced Ben’s narrator as Andy Samberg, while season 2 revealed Gigi Hadid as Paxton’s. It’s probable that another narrator will be revealed; the only question is who the voice will belong to. So far, those narrators have belonged to Devi’s love interests. If the new character Des ends up as a love interest, there’s the potential for the next narrator to be his. If he doesn’t become a love interest, perhaps another character’s partner, like Trent, could have their narrator divulged.

Until August rolls around, you can pick out who your narrator would be or rewatch the first two seasons to make sure everything is fresh in your mind when season 3 hits screens.

Young Sheldon Season 6: Renewed or Cancelled?

ezgif 1 8d27975ab1

A spin-off prequel to the famous ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ ‘Young Sheldon‘ is a coming-of-age sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. Set in the 1980s and 1990s, the narrative showcases the journey of the younger version of Sheldon Cooper. With his surreal intelligence and maturity, he manages to skip four grades and finds it difficult to fit in at school as well as at home. The period sitcom first released on September 25, 2017, on CBS.

The show resonates with younger as well as older viewers since it tackles a number of relatable issues, including struggles of fitting in with peers and the complexities of parenthood. This is one of the main reasons it has garnered appreciation and love from a large number of fans and critics. As the fifth installment comes to a close, fans are already clamoring for more. So, if you have been wondering whether there will be a round 6, here is everything we can tell you!

Young Sheldon Season 6 Release Date

‘Young Sheldon’ season 5 premiered on October 7, 2021, on CBS, with the season ending on May 19, 2022. The fifth edition of the sitcom consists of 22 episodes with a runtime of 18-21 minutes each.

As far as the show’s sixth iteration is concerned, we have some good news to share! On March 30, 2021, CBS officially picked up the show for seasons 5, 6, and 7. That means the ‘The Big Bang Theory’ prequel had been renewed all the way through the 2023-2024 season. This is hardly surprising since the show became the most-watched comedy series on television in 2021.

Following the announcement, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl stated, “Young Sheldon dominates the broadcast comedy landscape by over +2.5 million viewers and is the lynchpin of CBS’ top-rated Thursday comedy lineup. The humor, warmth and heart exuded by the Cooper family is an undeniable hook for the millions of fans who tune in each week. We’re excited to see what the next three seasons have in store for a slightly older Sheldon and all the Coopers.”

Having received an early renewal, the production team must already have a solid plan in place to deliver new seasons on time. Before COVID-19 hit, the show rolled out a new edition in September every year. But season 4 was evidently affected by the pandemic. However, networks and streaming platforms have been trying to adjust back into their regular routines. With that being said, we can expect ‘Young Sheldon’ season 6 to release in September 2022.

Young Sheldon Season 6 Cast: Who can be in it?

It is almost certain that all the main cast members will reprise their roles in the show’s sixth round. This includes Iain Armitage (Sheldon Cooper), Zoe Perry (Mary Tucker Cooper), Lance Barber (George Cooper Sr.), Montana Jordan (George “Georgie” Cooper Jr.), Raegan Revord (Melissa “Missy” Cooper), Annie Potts (Connie “Meemaw” Tucker), Matt Hobby (Pastor Jeff Difford), and Wyatt McClure (Billy Sparks). In addition, according to sources, Emily Osment (Mandy) has been promoted to the main cast billing for the upcoming installment.

Other cast members who play pivotal roles in the series are Wallace Shawn (John Sturgis), Ryan Phuong (Tam Nguyen), Melissa Peterman (Brenda Sparks), Doc Farrow (Assistant Coach Wayne Wilkins), Rex Linn (Tom Petersen), Mckenna Grace (Paige Swanson), and Craig T. Nelson (Dale Ballard). Therefore, they might be seen again in the sixth iteration. We may even get to see some fresh faces in case new characters are introduced.

Young Sheldon Season 6 Plot: What can it be About?

In the fifth season, Sheldon continues to question the rationality behind religion and settles into his new dorm room. Georgie makes some life-changing decisions and lies about his age to get close to Mandy. Meemaw and Dale break up after dating for a while. Later, Georgie comes clean to Mandy but gets her pregnant, which stirs up gossip in the church. Amidst the drama, Mary feels alienated from her church and wants Georgie to marry Mandy. Furthermore, George Sr.’s job is in jeopardy.

In the season 5 finale, Mary and George Sr. look for new jobs, while Sheldon is hit with the initial signs of puberty. Elsewhere, Meemaw and Georgie travel across the border on a business trip. The sixth round is expected to unpack a lot of drama, especially the one surrounding Georgie and Mandy. We are likely to find out if Mary can convince the pair to get married or not. As for Sheldon, he is likely to go through some drastic changes due to puberty. In addition, we may get to see how the relationship between Mary and the church changes with time.
