Aaron Phypers, the estranged husband of actress and reality television star Denise Richards, denied her allegations of abuse this week in court, and says that his ex just “bruises easily.”
Aaron was shown several photographs submitted by Denise of her bruised body, allegedly caused by him. Still, Aaron says he could not recall how she received her black eye, but had explanations for some of the other injuries.
“She would bruise her arms, all sorts of stuff,” he said in court. “She’d bruise herself while cooking … falling down.”
He added that she would injure herself “often.”
Aaron has previously accused Denise of substance abuse and blames her injuries on her actions while under the influence. His testimony is in contrast to Denise’s cousin Kathleen McAllister, who claims she saw Aaron give her a black eye back in 2022.
“I saw Aaron hit Denise, and immediately, she had a really bad black eye,” McAllister alleged. “I’m literally in shock now to this day about it.” She went on to list several other incidents she says she witnessed.
Denise testified earlier this week:
“I was scared of them asking me how I got (the black eye), and I didn’t want to get Aaron in trouble,” she told her attorney who asked her to clarify why she didn’t seek medical attention following the alleged 2022 incident.. “I was trying to protect him. … I hid it from my daughters; I wore sunglasses.”
