Abayomi Adegoke Resumes Office As Osun College Governing Board Chairman

The new Chairman of the Governing Board at the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Hon. (Alhaji) Abayomi Adegoke, has officially resumed duty.

He arrived at the college campus in Ilesa on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with a renewed commitment to serve with integrity and dedication to the institution’s founding vision and mission.

During the event marking his first day in office, Hon. Adegoke expressed strong alignment with the developmental agenda of Osun State Governor, Senator Jackson Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, promising to uphold the administration’s values.

He identified three major goals as his immediate focus: staff welfare, students’ welfare, and the upgrade of the college to a full-fledged polytechnic.

Hon. Adegoke assured staff that the board would emulate the state government’s approach by ensuring prompt and improved treatment of workers.

He pledged to tackle students’ accommodation challenges through a Public-Private Partnership model to enhance safety and learning conditions.

Adegoke described the planned upgrade of the college to a polytechnic as a landmark goal that would benefit both the institution and the Ijesa community.

He promised to promote innovation, academic excellence, fairness, and digital transformation while fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

The new Chairman emphasized that his leadership would be defined by service, accountability, and partnership to drive sustainable growth in the college.

In his inaugural remarks, the Provost of OSCOHEALTH, Dr. L.O. Raheem, described the appointment of Hon. Abayomi Adegoke as a historic milestone, noting he is only the third Governing Board Chairman since the college was established 45 years ago.

Dr. Raheem praised Adegoke as a grassroots leader, a prominent political figure in Osun, and a passionate advocate for the underprivileged, highlighting his leadership role in the Lion Club of Nigeria.

He expressed confidence that Adegoke’s appointment would bring fresh energy and vision to the institution, especially in promoting open access to academic resources, research data, and educational excellence.

The Provost also introduced the college’s principal officers to the Chairman and emphasized the institution’s readiness to work with him to drive significant progress in line with the college’s mission and values.

The resumption event was attended by government officials, PDP stakeholders, family members, friends, and the college management, who warmly welcomed Hon. Abayomi Adegoke to his new role.
