The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja was temporarily shut down on Wednesday following an incident involving a private jet on the runway.
The aircraft, identified as a Gulfstream 400 with tail number 5N-PZE, was carrying 14 passengers and four crew members when the event occurred.

According to airport sources, the jet had departed from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu and landed in Abuja at about 2:16 p.m. before the incident unfolded.

“The cause of the incident is yet to be determined, but the relevant authorities have been notified,” one source confirmed.

Reacting to the development, Mr. Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), said the agency was aware of the situation and promised that more details would be shared with journalists as investigations progress.
