The Media Office of Chief (Dr.) Peter Taiwo Ogundeji (A.K.A. APATA), a distinguished philanthropist, entrepreneur, and Chief Executive Officer of the APATA CARES FOUNDATION, has unveiled a series of week-long events to commemorate his 40th birthday anniversary.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Adewumi Faniran on behalf of the organising committee, said the celebration will feature a range of activities reflecting Dr Ogundeji’s lifelong passion for education, empowerment, health, and community development across the Osun West Senatorial District.
Part of the release reads, “The week-long celebration will commence on Monday, 17 November, with a Colloquium and Book Launch at Leisure Spring Hotel, along Osogbo–Iwo Road, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
“The event will bring together distinguished guests, community leaders, scholars, and well-wishers to reflect on Dr Ogundeji’s impactful journey and contributions to social development.
“On Tuesday, 18 November, attention will shift to health and wellness as the APATA CARES FOUNDATION sponsors a comprehensive Free Eye Care Outreach.
“The exercise will include free eye examinations, distribution of corrective and reading glasses, provision of essential drugs, and cataract surgeries. These medical interventions will take place simultaneously in Ejigbo, Ede, Iwo, and Ikire, all within the Osun West Senatorial District.
“The celebration will continue on Wednesday, 19 November, with a Novelty Football Match between Iwo All Stars and Ejigbo All Stars at the Iwo Township Stadium. The sporting event symbolises unity, friendship, and healthy competition among communities in Osun West.
“On Thursday, 20 November, the focus will turn to youth and women empowerment. At a special event scheduled for Legacy Hall, Ola Town, in Ejigbo Local Government Area, tools such as sewing machines, hair dryers, and other equipment will be distributed to apprentices and small-scale entrepreneurs to boost self-reliance and local productivity.
“Friday, 21 November, has been set aside for Special Prayers in honour of the celebrant. The prayers will be held at Apata Castle, opposite Gbolaru Palace, Ilupeju Estate, Ido-Osun, in Egbedore Local Government Area, where friends, family members, and well-wishers will gather to give thanks for the life and achievements of the celebrant.
“The week-long festivities will climax on Sunday, 23 November, with a Grand Birthday Celebration at De-Legend Event Centre, beside Grace Cooking Gas, Dele Yes Sir area, Osogbo. The closing event promises to be a joyful gathering of associates, partners, family, and admirers who share in the legacy of APATA’s generosity and leadership.
“The programme has been carefully designed to honour a distinguished son of Ola, a man of royal descent whose humility, vision, and commitment to service have touched countless lives across Osun State and beyond.
“Chief (Dr.) Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, known widely as APATA, the Rock, has spent four decades exemplifying the ideals of leadership, compassion, and community service.
“His quiet achievements, especially through the APATA CARES FOUNDATION, have made a measurable difference in education, healthcare, and empowerment for the less privileged.
“As one of the organisers remarked, “Such a man deserves not just a standing ovation, but enduring recognition for his contributions to humanity and his unwavering love for his people.”
