John Amaefule, the renowned Nigerian actor, is currently fighting against a stroke.
In a recent Instagram post by movie producer Stanley Ontop, it was revealed that Amaefule is appealing to Nigerians for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses.
The veteran film star was rushed to a hospital in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, after suffering a stroke.
On top shared photos and videos of the actor undergoing treatment and mentioned that Amaefule’s family is seeking financial help to cover necessary tests and treatments.
“Nollywood veteran actor John Amaefule was rushed to the hospital this morning in Owerri after experiencing a stroke,” ... states. “He is currently in FCM Owerri, and his family is asking Nigerians to please help. They need money to save this man.”
A stroke occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is disrupted, leading to numbness on one side of the body.
According to Ontop, the doctor’s report indicated that Amaefule had a stroke on the left side of his brain, which has caused weakness on the right side of his body.
“This message is from the doctor: he had a stroke on the left side of his brain, likely causing right-sided weakness. They need to conduct a lipid panel test, a Hemoglobin A1c test, as well as electrolyte, urea, and creatinine tests for him,” ... added.
“Additionally, he will need medication for cholesterol—atorvastatin—and possibly for blood pressure, which could be losartan or hydrochlorothiazide if he is not already taking one. Depending on his condition, he should also be on aspirin and clopidogrel.”
