Adamawa PDP issues local govt election schedules, fixes chairmanship form at N11m

The Adamawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has released its sales of forms notice and timetable as a guide for members seeking to contest positions in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The local council election, open to all interested political parties to field chairmanship and councillorship candidates, has been slated for 31 May 2026 by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, ADSIEC.

The PDP sales of forms notice, issued on Tuesday by the party’s State Organising Secretary, Titus Samaila, indicated that members seeking the party’s ticket for chairmanship positions are required to pay a total of N11 million for forms—N10 million for the nomination form and N1 million for the Expression of Interest, EI form.

Councillorship aspirants are to pay N200,000 for the nomination form and N100,000 for the EI form.

The party further indicated in the notice that female aspirants and persons with physical challenges are to pay 50 per cent of the stipulated costs.

The PDP electoral timetable shows that aspiration forms will be on sale from December 1 to 7, 2025, while the return of completed forms is scheduled for December 8 to 10. Screening of aspirants will hold from December 11 and 20, with councillorship and chairmanship primaries slated for December 18 and 20 respectively.
