The National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress, Sultan Bello, has announced his exit from the party, ending his membership with immediate effect.
Bello communicated the decision in a resignation letter dated September 24, 2026, sent to the chairman of the Ja’oji Gyadi Gyadi Arewa Ward in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
In the letter, Bello said he arrived at the decision after consultations with others, personal consideration and what he described as deep reflection. He did not state a specific reason for his departure.
The former youth leader expressed gratitude to the ADC for giving him the opportunity to participate in its activities and contribute to the growth of the party during his time as a member.
He also acknowledged former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, whom he described as his principal, thanking him for his confidence, guidance and support.
Bello extended his appreciation to the party’s leaders, stakeholders, members and supporters, noting that his time in the ADC had afforded him valuable experiences and relationships.
He formally asked the ward leadership to accept his resignation and remove his name from the party’s membership register with immediate effect.
His resignation comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the ADC continuing to witness developments involving its leadership and prominent members.
