Nollywood actress Chioma Akpotha has lamented over the stress of being an adult.
On her Instagram page, the AMVCA actress complained about how slow January has been, noting that bills have piled up following the festive season.
Akpotha noted how adulting is truly a full-time ministry.

After Christmas spending, New Year energy, and resolutions, now the bills have entered the chat.
Adulting is truly a full-time ministry, because why am I already tired on day 97 of January?

Last year was a winning season for Chioma, who won the AMVCA Best Actress award and was recognised by YouTube.
Kemi Filani reported that the movie star received a YouTube plaque for hitting 100k subscribers on the popular platform. Sharing a clip of her win, she expressed gratitude to the public for making her reach the milestone.
In May, Chioma won the Best Lead Actress at the 2025 AMVCA. The movie star beat Gbubemi Ejeye, Uzoamaka Onuoha, Uche Montana, Hilda Dokubo, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, and Bimbo Ademoye to win the award.
Chioma, who wasn’t at the event, shared a video on her Instagram page of her crying as she expressed gratitude to God for the win. The talented actress said words fail her.
To celebrate her AMVCA win, her family and friends threw her a surprise party. Akpotha shared a video from the event, expressing how overwhelmed she was with the grand gesture. The talented actress added that being loved, accepted, seen, and celebrated is great medicine for the heart.
Chioma’s big win was due to her impressive performance in Femi Adebayo’s movie, Seven Doors.
Femi, while celebrating Chioma’s birthday, spoke sweetly about working with her. He described Chioma’s talent as pure magic, her humour as infectious, and her energy as unmatched.
Opening up on why he chose Chioma as the lead actress for his movie, Adebayo claimed it was a divine message as he noted how Chioma initially declined when he reached out to her, but he insisted.
Chioma, on her part, said the universe worked it out for them as she noted she wasn’t available for the role when he first reached out to her. The movie star said she later got hooked on the script and was connected to it, and God made it possible for her to be available for filming.
