Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers could be on the move this summer as reports indicate that Greek giants AEK Athens have developed a serious interest in the in-form Nigerian striker, Footynaija.com reports.

Dessers, who has been outstanding for Rangers this season, is attracting attention following a prolific campaign in both domestic and European competitions.

The 30-year-old striker has netted an impressive 29 goals in 55 appearances for Rangers so far this season, leading the Scottish Premiership golden boot race. With this strong form, it is no surprise that clubs across Europe are monitoring his situation, and AEK Athens appear to be at the front of the queue.

According to updates from Greece, AEK Athens have placed Dessers high on their summer transfer wishlist as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Since joining Rangers from Cremonese in 2023 for a reported £4.5 million, Dessers has grown into one of the most consistent performers in the Scottish top flight. However, Rangers may consider offers this summer in a bid to capitalise on his market value while it remains high.

Dessers, who has two goals in 6 caps for the Super Eagles, boasts experience playing in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and now Scotland. This adds to his value and makes him an attractive option for any top side in Europe.

AEK Athens, known for their regular appearances in European competitions, are reportedly making plans to move early in the market to avoid competition. The Greek side finished strong in their domestic campaign and are keen to boost their attacking options, with Dessers seen as a realistic and ambitious target.

According to The Scottish Sun, respected Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos has confirmed that AEK Athens are “highly interested” in the Nigerian forward, suggesting that official contact or a bid may not be far off.
