President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has felicitated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant and committed patriot whose career has been marked by resilience and dedication to Nigeria.
Akpabio, in a statement issued to mark Shettima’s birthday, recalled his journey through public service, which included serving as a commissioner, governor of Borno State, senator and now Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Senate President particularly commended Shettima for his leadership of Borno State during one of the most challenging periods in the state’s history, marked by persistent terrorism and insecurity.
He said Shettima remained committed to his responsibilities despite the security challenges confronting the state, adding that his leadership demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity.
Akpabio also praised the Vice President’s role in the current administration, noting his partnership with President Bola Tinubu in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, the cooperation between the President and his deputy is important to the administration’s efforts to tackle the country’s challenges and create the foundation for economic prosperity.
The Senate President said Shettima’s birthday was an opportunity to celebrate not only another year in his life but also his contributions to the development and service of the country.
“On behalf of my family, my constituents and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish you many more years of good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment,” Akpabio said.
He prayed for continued divine guidance and strength for the Vice President, expressing hope that the years ahead would bring Nigeria closer to peace, prosperity, unity and greater international respect.
