Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has carried out a fresh shake-up in his administration with the appointment of a new Head of Service and the immediate dismissal of two aides.

The move marks one of the most significant internal changes in the government in recent months, signalling what officials describe as an ongoing effort to strengthen the state’s administrative structure.

Governor Eno approved the appointment of Mrs. Elsie Peters as the new Head of Service for the state.

She takes over from Mr. Effiong Essien, who has officially bowed out of service following his retirement.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued in Uyo by the Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah, and made available to reporters on Monday.

In another development, Governor Eno relieved two top aides of their duties.

Those affected are Mr. Joseph Ikpak, Senior Special Assistant on Support Services, and Mr. Felix Ekuri, Special Assistant on Neighbourhood Watch.

Both officials were dismissed with immediate effect.
