The senior pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has claimed that the powerful people at the highest levels of government are responsible for the killings of Christians in Nigeria.
Naijaonpoint reports that Adeyemi stated this on Thursday, during a press conference held to mark the church’s 30th anniversary.
The clergy stated that it is insensitive to debate the semantics of Christian killings in Nigeria.
Adeyemi also warned that Nigeria’s security challenges could worsen if a potential US military action takes place.
He said, “It is open knowledge that some of the people that support the killing of Christians are powerful.
“Some of them are at the highest levels of government. And some of them are wealthy.
“So, it is not something America will throw bombs on the ground, and it will disappear.
“At the end of the day, they will go and we will still have to sit down and have a discussion.”
Recall that the United States President, Donald Trump, had, earlier this month, alleged that radical Islamists were killing Christians “in very large numbers” and insisted that the United States would intervene militarily if Nigeria failed to stop the violence.
He warned that the attack would be “fast, vicious, and sweet,” sparking global concern and diplomatic debate.
