Anambra State Government has, through its Operation Udo Ga-Achi initiative, demolished more than four houses used as hide-outs by kidnappers at Umu-Umejiaku Nnewi, and Umuogbo Obiofia Nnewi-Ichi, all in Nnewi North Local Government Area.

During the demolition exercise, shrines, mini-cells, bushes, and other things used by the kidnappers to perpetrate their evil acts were seen in the scenes.

Speaking on the development, Governor Chukwuma Soludo who restated his administration’s zero tolerance for any form of crime and criminality, said that his government is out to restore sanity in the state and ensure adequate security of life and property.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, warned kidnappers and other criminals to leave the state or face the wrath of the government through the Operation Udo Ga-Achi initiative. Governor Soludo advised the state’s residents to always report any suspicious activities around them to the appropriate authorities or risk being arrested and punished accordingly if the government discovers the illegalities on its own.

Neighbours and uncle of the prime suspect identified as Chinemerem Oforma denied knowledge of the notorious activities of the suspected kidnapper. The governor was accompanied by the Majority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, Mayor of Nnewi North, Mr Echezona Anazodo, among others.
