APC denies nationwide congress timetable in circulation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a document circulating on social media titled “APC 2025 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities”, describing it as fake news.

In a statement released on Sunday, the ruling party said it had not issued or authorised any timetable for congresses or related political activities for 2025.

“Our great party wishes to clarify that the purported schedule of activities for congresses was neither made nor authorised by the APC,” the statement read. “It should therefore be disregarded in its entirety.”

The APC urged its members, supporters, and the general public to rely only on official communications released through recognised channels — including statements signed by the National Publicity Secretary or published on the party’s verified platforms.

“The attention of the All Progressives Congress has been drawn to a document making the rounds online regarding the alleged timetable for congresses across the country. We wish to state categorically that it did not emanate from the national secretariat of the party,” the statement added.

The party also warned mischief-makers against spreading false information capable of misleading members or creating unnecessary tension within its ranks.

The APC assured that once the National Working Committee (NWC) finalises and approves any official schedule for congresses or conventions, the public will be duly informed through official announcements.
