The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to destabilise all the opposition political parties.
Naijaonpoint reports that the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this statement on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Brief’.
Abdullahi labelled the APC as the greatest threat to Nigerian democracy.
According to him, some individuals are working with the APC and asking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the ADC on some ‘funny’ grounds.
He said, “APC today represents the greatest threat to Nigerian democracy. You can see it in what they are doing a couple of days back. Some people came aboard and they say they are challenging this or that.
“They’re asking INEC to deregister ADC on some funny grounds. But we know where that is coming from. The individuals involved in that, we know them. We know who they work for.
“The APC has done everything to destabilise opposition party; from PDP to Labour Party, SDP, ADC and so on.
“If we are not careful, if we don’t build an alternative political platform, Nigeria is inevitably leading towards a one-party state, and that is what this government is doing.”
