APC Moves To Digitise Membership Database, Spells Out Eligibility Requirements

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced a nationwide electronic membership registration exercise, calling on party members and supporters across the country to participate in the ongoing process.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, made the call in a statement on Friday, January 22, inviting both old and new members to take part in the exercise currently taking place in Delta State, other states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the party, the e-registration exercise is being conducted across all wards nationwide, with existing members expected to validate their membership details, while new and intending members are encouraged to register and officially join the party.

Morka said the initiative was open to all eligible Nigerians who share the party’s progressive ideals.

“All party stakeholders, supporters and members – old and new – are invited to participate in the ongoing APC Membership Electronic-Registration Exercise,” he said.

Eligibility Requirements Spelt Out

The APC spokesman disclosed that prospective registrants must be at least 18 years old and must possess a valid National Identification Number.

According to him, the requirements are aimed at ensuring the credibility and integrity of the party’s membership database.

“Registrants must be 18 years or older and must possess a valid National Identification Number,” the statement read.

Morka explained that the electronic registration exercise was designed to digitise the party’s membership register and strengthen internal party administration.

He noted that the initiative would improve record integrity, enhance access to membership data for planning and management decisions, and promote internal democracy within the party.

The exercise, he added, also reflects the APC’s commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria.

“The e-registration exercise is designed to digitise the party’s membership register, ensure integrity of record, enhance efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions, promote internal democracy, and strengthen the party’s commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria,” Morka said.

The APC urged Nigerians who identify with its ideology to seize the opportunity to register and become part of what it described as Nigeria’s progressive family.

“Register now as a member of APC, and join Nigeria’s Progressive Family,” the party spokesman added.

The party said further details on registration centres and procedures would be communicated through ward and state party structures nationwide.
