THE National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has officially resigned from his position.

A source within the APC national headquarters, speaking anonymously due to lack of authorization, confirmed that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is set to announce an acting chairman in the coming days.

As of this evening, the specific reasons for Ganduje’s resignation remain undisclosed. However, the source revealed that most of his personal belongings have already been cleared out of the APC national secretariat.

“Yes, Ganduje has resigned. The National Working Committee will soon make an official announcement and appoint an acting chairman,” the source disclosed.

Efforts to reach the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, for comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to multiple calls.

Meanwhile, former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad confirmed the news in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He stated:

“The National Chairman of our great party, the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources. An acting chairman will be selected from among the national vice chairmen until a new chairman is elected at the December 2025 national convention.”
