APC: Tinubu Makes Fresh Appointments Ahead Of 2027 Election

Bola Tinubu 1

President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation to address internal disputes within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the ruling party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration was held on Wednesday in Lagos. This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, the committee was set up to strengthen internal cohesion within the APC and ensure effective mobilisation ahead of future electoral contests.

The committee is chaired by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, while former APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire, will serve as the member-secretary.

Members of the committee include governors, ministers and other critical stakeholders of the ruling party.

They are Senator Adamu Aliero; governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta.

Others are Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani; Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; and former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.

Speaking at the inauguration, Buni expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in the committee members, assuring that they would discharge their responsibilities with dedication and a high sense of duty.

“The committee will engage in strategic engagements and consultations to develop an all-encompassing, productive and result-oriented strategy that will stand the test of time,” Buni said.

He added, “We shall implement a system that gives everyone, especially aggrieved parties, a sense of belonging and inclusion, with a renewed hope.

“Similarly, the committee will consider proactive measures, solutions, and the potential threats in our conflict resolution approach.”

Buni also urged members of the committee to place the collective interest of the party above personal considerations as they carry out their assignment.

The inauguration followed Tinubu’s recent call for unity within the APC at the party’s 15th National Executive Committee meeting held on December 19 at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, where he emphasised the need for cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.
