Apple Intelligence is one of the main selling points for future Apple devices. Like other companies, users will get a free trial period for all AI-powered features. However, it’s possible that the monthly price for Apple Intelligence’s premium features reaches up to $20.

Developing an AI platform is not cheap. That’s why companies that offer AI-based services often reserve the most premium features for paid or premium tiers. For example, Google Photos’ Magic Editor limits the number of monthly edits to free users, requiring a Google One subscription to remove the limits. A subscription is also mandatory to access the more powerful Gemini models and their Google Workspace integration, among other tools.
On the other hand, Samsung confirmed that some features of its Galaxy AI suite will require a monthly payment starting in 2026. However, the South Korean giant has not revealed the fee that users will have to pay. Perhaps the company is still internally discussing an ideal price.
Now, some industry analysts suggest that Apple would charge between $10 – $20 per month for access to Apple Intelligence’s premium features. Neil Shah, a Counterpoint Research partner, said that Apple would tie the Apple Intelligence fee to Apple One. The latter is a monthly subscription that enables access to some of the company’s services. So, the Cupertino giant would take a similar path as Google with its “One” and “AI Premium” subscriptions.
Apple expects big sales for the iPhone 16 series thanks to AI
If you’re not aware, Apple Intelligence will not be available on all current-gen iPhones. The iPhone 15 vanilla and Plus models are off the list. Apparently, the main impediment is the 6 GB of RAM, as Apple Intelligence will require at least 8 GB. However, the entire iPhone 16 series will be compatible with the AI-powered suite. iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max owners will also enjoy it.
Apple expects its investment in AI to positively impact sales of the iPhone 16 series. The company predicts that many users will upgrade their devices to ones with AI-enabled features. In fact, Apple estimates it will ship 90 million units of the iPhone 16 lineup in 2024 alone. It remains to be seen if this strategy will really work for the Cupertino giant. It will also be interesting to see if Apple Intelligence’s premium features will really cost $20 per month and how many users will be willing to pay that price.
