Apple plans to launch its most expensive product in 2026 and the Cupertino-based tech giant aims to keep the price of the product below Rs 80 lakh so that it can appeal to a wider audience. Currently, Apple’s most expensive product is the top-of-the-line Mac Pro, which costs more than Rs 50 lakh, but according to the latest report from Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to launch the much-anticipated Apple car in 2026, which will be the brand’s most expensive product until date.

The Apple car has been in the works for quite some time. The much-discussed autonomous vehicle plan has gone through some tough times over the years under countless leadership. The vehicle was previously said to have a revolutionary design with no steering wheel or pedals, but the latest report suggests the company has moved to a more traditional approach.

Bloomberg suggests that Apple’s main rival in the auto market will be Elon Musk. The price of Tesla cars starts at $47,000 and goes up to $100,000. If Apple Car’s base model costs around $100,000, it will stack directly against Tesla’s more expensive Model S.

The report suggests Apple Car would cost more than $120,000, but the company plans to keep vehicle prices low due to restrictions on autonomous driving functionality. According to the report, the company will finalize the design of the car next year. Testing is likely to begin in 2025, before launch in 2026.
