Today, Apple launched its new iPhone 16 series with some key improvements and new features. One of the main highlights in the lineup is support for the Apple Intelligence suite. Among the previous generation devices, only the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will get the Cupertino giant’s AI-powered features. That said, previous iPhones are still very solid and powerful smartphones. If you’re not interested in AI features, Apple will continue to sell the iPhone 14 and 15 series at lower prices.
There was no price increase in the new iPhone lineup this year. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro start at $799 and $999, respectively. These are the same starting prices as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. This is nice, as some rumors hinted at a potential price increase in the new generation. Anyway, the launch of the latest models also brought a price drop in previous ones.
You can get the iPhone 14 and 15 at lower prices after the arrival of the iPhone 16
Starting today, those interested in purchasing an iPhone 15 can do so for $699. On the other hand, the still-decent iPhone 14 can be yours for a starting price of $599. If you’re looking for an even more affordable iPhone, you can turn to the current iPhone SE, which costs $429. The latter’s price remains unchanged from its launch, but there’s a decent $100 cut on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14.
Maybe you’re looking for the “Plus” variants of previous models because you value a larger screen and battery. In that case, the iPhone 15 Plus is available for $799, while the iPhone 14 Plus costs $699. The Apple Store has completely removed the “Pro” models of previous generations. This is normal, as the new-gen devices are basically direct replacements.
Lastly, preorders for the iPhone 16 series begin on September 13, with direct availability set for September 20. The vanilla and Plus models will be available in five colorways: black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine. On the other hand, you can buy the Pro and Pro Max variants in black titanium, natural titanium, white titanium, and desert titanium.
