Ariana Grande is setting her sights on a major comedy sequel to the comedy franchise Meet the Parents, which has officially wrapped filming ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good.
Grande posted a carousel of images on Instagram to mark the final filming moments for the upcoming addition to the comedy franchise Meet the Parents, titled Focker-in-Law. She captioned ... and said, “These past few months have been so, so unimaginably special. i love my Fockers, and i love my Byrnes… so, so very much ♡ i will miss this bunch terribly. see you next november ! ♡“
Meet the Parents was released in 2000 and starred Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes alongside Ben Stiller as Greg Focker. Nurse Greg wants to propose to his longtime girlfriend Pamela (Teri Polo), but decides to spend a weekend with her parents before popping the question. Jack develops a strong dislike for Greg, leading to awkward yet hilarious encounters.
Grande’s role in the upcoming installment has largely been kept under wraps. Her character’s name is Olivia Jones, and Grande’s Instagram post gave a rare insight into her character.
Stiller spoke fondly of two-time Grammy-winning artist Grande’s involvement in the new movie and said, “What she’s doing in this movie is very unique, it’s a very unique character, and we’re having a great time and just like to work with her.”
Focker-in-Law is scheduled to be released on November 25, 2026, with John Hamburg returning as the writer and director for the fourth film in the franchise. De Niro, Blythe Danner, Stiller, and Polo are set to reprise their roles in the new installment. The first three films grossed over $1.13 billion globally at the box office and are currently one of the most successful comedy franchises ever.
Grande is set to appear in John M. Chu’s sequel Wicked: For Good, which will be released later this month (November 21), and the singer will star alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba as Glinda. She is also lending her vocal talents to an adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s children’s book Oh, the Places You’ll Go!.
