It was a show of patriotism and proactive action as security agencies, spearheaded by the Nigerian Air Force from the skies, took control of the security environment when an Abuja-bound train broke down along the route for over 3 hours on Saturday, 2 August 2025, rendering the passengers susceptible to danger. There was palpable fear when few minutes after departure from Kaduna, the train came to an abrupt halt. Efforts by the engineers to rectify the fault could not yield any positive result which exposed the passengers to imminent potential harm.
However, in a swift and amazing proactive response, an aircraft appeared in the sky and maintained aerial surveillance around the general area thereby reassuring the stranded passengers that the government was in control of the security situation. This was followed by an all-round defence by members of the Armed Forces who deployed gun trucks and security personnel to proactively ensure that all the passengers were save and secure.
This action by the security architecture put in place by those in authority as a quick response mechanism to any sudden security danger was lauded by passengers who heaved a sigh of relieve. They expressed profound and immense gratitude to the government for this foresight to proactively prevent any unforeseen disaster by miscreants. While it is very easy to condemn, this action by the government demand great commendation as it reassures the citizens that their security is of great concern to those incharge of security even if the managers of the train service fail in their responsibilities.
