Several Super Eagles stars completed late transfers in this summer’s transfer window and were unable to take part in a training session with the rest of their teammates before jetting out for the International Break for National team duties.

The others who were involved in their club training were not invited by Eric Chelle as Nigeria claimed four points against Rwanda and South Africa.

As club football returns to action this weekend, Soccernet.ng highlights five Super Eagles stars who could make their debut for their new clubs this weekend.

Tolu Arokodare

The 24-year-old striker completed a move to three-time English Premier League Champions, Wolverhampton Wanderers, on a four-year deal, with the fee amounting to £24m.

Arokodare scored the only goal in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Rwanda, and has returned to training with Wolves. The former Genk man could be set for his first Wolves appearance at St.James Park when they travel to face Newcastle United.

The lanky forward is confident he’ll make a good contribution to his team in the English Premier League, revealing he has no fears.

Cyriel Dessers

After 52 goals and 17 assists in 116 games for Rangers, Cyriel Dessers completed a deadline day move from Ibrox to join 20-time Greek Champions, Panathinaikos FC, for €4.63m.

The performance of the 30-year-old always left the Rangers fans divided. While he boasts of a good goalscoring return, Dessers could’ve scored much more if he were composed in front of goal.

The former Genk player could make his debut for the Greens against Kifisia FC at the Panthessaliko Stadio on Sunday.

Samuel Chukwueze

After enduring a torrid spell at the San Siro that saw him struggle for playing time with AC Milan, Samuel Chukwueze joined Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at Fulham on loan.

The agreed deal for the loan spell includes a buy option that could see the total package of the Nigerian go up to €25m. However, it is not a mandatory clause, but only an option for Fulham to consider if they’re impressed with Chukwueze’s performances in his time at Craven Cottage.

The fleet-footed winger has been seen in training with the rest of his teammates and could make his first appearance for the Cottagers tomorrow against Leeds United.

Victor Boniface

Following a failed medical in Italy with AC Milan, Boniface returned to Germany to continue his journey with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Amidst doubts about his physical fitness, the 24-year-old Super Eagles star joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan and could make his debut against Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.

Gift Orban

After scoring four goals in just 13 games for Hoffenheim, the 24-year-old striker joined Hellas Verona on a season-long loan from the Bundesliga side.

The deal involves an option to buy if the Nigerian striker impresses in Italy. Orban is set to make his first appearance for Verona in their game against Cremonese on Monday.

Christantus Uche

The Super Eagles midfielder sealed a move to Selhurst Park just before the September International break. He’s set to don the number 12 jersey for Crystal Palace.

The deal includes an obligation to buy for around €20m. After playing 20 minutes in Nigeria’s game against South Africa, Uche is poised to feature for Oliver Glasner’s side against Sunderland tomorrow.
