Inter Milan are pushing ahead in their pursuit of Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman, with the Atalanta star now emerging as a top target to bolster the Nerazzurri’s frontline ahead of the new Serie A season, Footynaija.com reports.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Inter have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the 27-year-old attacker.

However, negotiations with Atalanta remain ongoing, with the Bergamo club holding out for a fee close to €50m. Inter are currently prepared to table a €40m offer in hopes of sealing the deal swiftly.

Lookman, who rejoined Atalanta for pre-season on Tuesday, is entering the final year of his contract. The Italian side is reportedly open to letting him go this summer but only for the right price.

The Super Eagles star enjoyed a stellar campaign in 2024–25, registering 20 goals and six assists for Atalanta across all competitions. His performances earned him the African Player of the Year award, further boosting his stock in the European transfer market.

Inter’s renewed interest in Lookman comes after the exits of Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic, while Mehdi Taremi has also been linked with a move away amid interest from Fulham and Besiktas.

Juventus, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be monitoring Lookman’s situation, though Inter appear to be in pole position.

While Lookman is said to be keen on the move, Inter must still convince Atalanta to lower their €50m valuation to finalise the transfer.
