Afrobeats star, Ahmed Ololade, professionally known as Asake, has changed his Instagram handle from “asakemusic” to “MrMoney”.
Naijaonpoint reports that the change, which appeared without any prior announcement, was noticed by his over five million followers.
“Mr Money” is a name that has been tied to Asake since his 2020 breakout hit, which paved the way for his rise in the music industry.
The name also gained wider attention after the success of his 2022 debut album Mr. Money With The Vibe, which earned him global recognition.
The renaming sets the stage for his upcoming project, Money, expected to be released soon.
The new album will reportedly be his first full-length body of work under his independent label, Giran Republic, following his exit from Olamide’s YBNL earlier in 2025.
Naijaonpoint recalls that in July, an entertainment lawyer, Yemisi Falaye, shared fresh details about why singer Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, parted ways with YBNL Nation.
The exit sparked reactions across the music industry, with fans and observers wondering what could have gone wrong between the duo.
According to Falaye, the fallout began during the early stages of Asake’s signing with the label.
She explained that Asake was so excited about finally getting signed that he rushed into the deal without proper legal review.
Falaye recalled that when Olamide presented the contract, he advised Asake to have it examined by a lawyer for thorough review.
