Last year, the singer’s father had cried out to Nigerians for help, soliciting funds from the public so he could take care of his deteriorating health.
Reports online claimed that the fast-rising singer had abandoned his father, who was paralysed after suffering from a stroke. While some sources claimed that Asake’s father was a deadbeat and had abandoned him when he was a child, other sources claim that his father was very present in his life, and it was his mother who now showers love on him, who had abandoned him.
In a public statement, his father, Mr Fatai, and his family made a specific demand of the singer, requesting that Asake provide an N50m house in Isale Eko that would generate rental income to support him. Additionally, they are demanding a DNA test for Zeenat, Asake’s alleged 11-year-old daughter, whom they claim he has also abandoned.
Though Asake didn’t publicly respond to the claims, he seemingly addressed the first viral video through his music, reflecting on the pressure from those around him.
Asake and his mother had paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile-Ife.
Sharing a clip of their visit, the Ooni expressed his happiness in welcoming Asake back home, noting that the Artist spent many of his formative years in Ife. He praised the singer’s mother for being a steadfast pillar and expressed his delight at welcoming her home.
