Ashwin’s Tehelka in Test rankings, Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav made a big jump

Fourth in bowling, second in all-rounder ranking

Ashwin, who became the player of the match during the second Test against Bangladesh in Mirpur, has moved up one place to join teammate Jasprit Bumrah at the fourth spot in the latest Test bowling rankings. At the same time, he has made tremendous gains in the list of all-rounders as well. He reached the second position in the rankings for all-rounders. Ravindra Jadeja occupies number 1 in this list. Ashwin has also gained in the rankings of Test batsmen. He has climbed three places to reach the 84th position. Ashwin did well with bat and ball against Bangladesh. He took six wickets and scored an unbeaten 42 to give Team India a resounding victory in the second match.

Shreyas Iyer made long jump

Emerging batsman Shreyas Iyer has also made a jump in the Test batting rankings. Iyer scored 87 during the first innings, then scored an unbeaten 29 during the run chase, playing a stellar role with Ashwin. In the list of Test batsmen, Iyer has jumped 10 places overall to reach 16th position. Right-handed batsman Iyer has a total of 666 rating points. Only three Indian players Rishabh Pant (6th), Rohit Sharma (9th) and Virat Kohli (14th) are ahead of him.

Umesh Yadav also jumped

Veteran fast bowler Umesh Yadav was the other Indian player to make a jump in the recent rankings. He has moved up five places to 33rd in the bowlers’ list. While for all-rounders, he jumped three places to reach the 48th position. Yadav took a total of five wickets in the second Test against Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s veteran batsman Liton Das has also benefited. Das made a crucial 73 in the second innings to move up two places to 12th position. Teammate Taijul Islam has jumped two places to reach 28th position.
