ACCORDING to reports out of Italy today, Atalanta are still holding out for their initial valuation of Ademola Lookman, despite Inter Milan’s improved bid.

Several outlets, including Sky Italia, claimed that Inter Milan made a bid of €40m plus €5m in add-ons for the Super Eagles forward today, up from their previous offer of €40m in total.

However, Atalanta knocked back the offer, insisting they wanted €50m.

It is believed that Lookman could join the Serie A and UEFA Champions League runners-up if they cough up €45m in fixed fee and a further €5m in bonuses, according to Football Italia.

Sportitalia added that this has so far been just a verbal offer during the meeting between the clubs, so Atalanta are waiting to receive the formal written proposal before giving a response.

Lookman, who is the current African Player of the Year, joined Atalanta from RB Leipzieg for around €11m in August 2022.

The 27-year-old Nigeria international has registered 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances for Atalanta, including a historic hat-trick in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
