‘Attention Of Presidency, Our Leaders Are Urgently Needed’ – APC Chieftain Speaks On Defection Of Ex- Minister

Isa Pantami

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Bauchi State, Khamis Darazo, has expressed concern about the likely exit of the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, from the party.

Naijaonpoint reports that Darazo, during an interview with journalists in Bauchi, urged the presidency and the national leadership of the APC to urgently intervene amid reports that Pantami might dump the party.

Darazo warned that such a development would amount to a major political loss for the ruling party in the North.

According to him, Pantami, a founding supporter and loyal member of the APC, is more than a politician.

He said, “The attention of the Presidency and the national leadership of our great party, the APC, is urgently needed to address the growing concerns surrounding talks about our respected brother and statesman, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami’s likely exit from our party. His exit will be a major political loss and setback for the APC, both in the North and across Nigeria.

“Professor Pantami is more than a politician he is an intellectual, reformer, and bridge-builder who has consistently used knowledge, faith, and integrity to promote good governance and inspire young Nigerians.”

The Bauchi APC stalwart warned that losing Pantami would not only weaken the party’s intellectual and moral foundation but also send a discouraging message to millions of Nigerian youths who view him as a symbol of integrity and visionary leadership.

Darazo further called on President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, and other key stakeholders to engage with Pantami to resolve any grievances or misunderstandings that might have prompted his decision.

He added, “The APC’s strength has always been rooted in unity, inclusion, and visionary leadership. Every loyal member is important, especially someone like Professor Pantami, whose influence and moral standing transcend party lines. The APC can not afford to lose such an invaluable pillar at this defining stage of our political journey.”
