Azealia Banks is once again stirring controversy, this time for a series of anti-Muslim comments that have spurred a growing online backlash and calls to boycott her music.
Earlier this week, a former fan behind the once-supportive account @azealia_tiktok urged listeners to delete Banks’ hits like “212” and “Liquorice” from their playlists, posting the hashtag #BoycottAzealiaBanks alongside a photo of the rapper marked with a “prohibited” emoji.

The move came after Banks, 34, posted a string of Islamophobic statements on X (formerly Twitter), including one claiming she “hates Muslims” and another linking her critics to global tragedies.

Rather than back down, Banks fired back, writing, “I don’t make music for Muslims honey.” She later followed up with additional posts invoking weapons and mocking her critics.
Fans and followers quickly condemned her remarks, calling them hateful and dangerous. Back in June, Banks faced backlash after she described herself as a Zionist and dismissed calls to support Palestine.
