One of the biggest announcements at The Game Awards 2025 was Baldur’s Gate 3 developers at Larian Studios’ new Divinity game, which was revealed in stunning fashion with a brutal and compelling trailer. But the exciting cinematic isn’t the only thing that’s blowing players’ minds tonight.

According to Geoff Keighley at TGA and Swen Vincke, founder and CEO of Larian (via X), Divinity is the “biggest most ambitious rpg yet” from the studio, even bigger and more sprawling than Baldur’s Gate 3. Divinity’s scale is absolutely massive, and could possibly be one of the biggest RPGs ever created.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Has Nothing On Larian’s New Divinity Game

The Scale Of Divinity Is Incredibly Exciting

While recent reports have suggested that Larian would be revealing a massive new Divinity project at The Game Awards, players weren’t ready for just how incredible the reveal would be. The cinematic is a jarring introduction and teaser to what’s on offer in the upcoming project from the Baldur’s Gate 3 developers, with so much more certain to be revealed in the coming months.

Not only did players get the Divinity annoucement tonight among countless other awesome reveals, they also got a taste of just how massive in scale Divinity promises to be, with both Swen Vincke and Geoff Keighley describing it as definitively bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3. To put that in perspective, BG3 is already one of the largest and most sprawling RPGs in the genre, with upwards of 300 hours of content that keeps players constantly going back.

Geoff Keighley’s Mystery Statue Did Not Disappoint

He Got Us Good With This One

A mysterious statue glows red at night in Joshua Tree, California.

Geoff Keighley’s infamous TGA shticks don’t always deliver in a big way, with past reveals feeling a bit like a rug-pull. But this year’s mysterious statue in the desert was a rouse for the record books, getting players from every corner of the gaming industry speculating over what the big reveal could possibly be.

While the mystery was more or less solved when trademark documents revealed a newly registered Divinity trademark from what was ostensibly Larian Studios, players were still blown away by the reveal despite knowing it was on the way. It’s exciting to think about what is possible from Larian Studios after Baldur’s Gate 3′s massive success, and the sky is apparently the limit.

Divinity has no official release date planned, but you can follow the game’s progress by signing up for the Larian newsletter at the offical Divinity site. This is sure to be one of the most elaborate and expansive RPGs ever made, and Larian fans could not be any happier with the Divinity announcment at The Game Awards tonight.
