Concept art for DC Comics’ revamped Joker reveals that the new design for the iconic Batman villain is intended to be “Bruce-like [with] a hint of Psycho.” Having the antagonist be a dark reflection of the hero is noteworthy, but no surprise. Yet the reference to Hitchcock’s proto-slasher film says a lot about who the Joker is.
Absolute Batman has been a huge hit for DC, and its incarnation of the Joker is the series’ biggest mystery so far.
