Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, has debunked reports suggesting that the governor plans to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as “laughable and lame.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, Kula reaffirmed Alia’s commitment to the APC, stressing that there is no crisis within the party’s Benue chapter and that the governor enjoys a cordial relationship with the party leadership, both in the state and at the national level.
His words: “There is no doubt about the Governor’s loyalty to the APC. He has been an active participant in the affairs of the party, including the recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC sole candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.”
He added that Governor Alia’s attendance at APC events, including the recent zonal and national summits at the Presidential Villa, indicates his alignment with the party.
Kula also dismissed suggestions of discord in the state chapter of the APC.
He said: “The APC leadership in the state is in no crisis as claimed in the unfounded report. The party under the chairmanship of Hon. Benjamin Omale has a super working relationship with the governor and has been performing its functions effectively.”
The statement comes amid swirling rumours of political realignment in the state ahead of the 2027 elections, which Alia’s team insists are entirely speculative.
