The cast for Black Mirror Season 6 has now been revealed. And it is stacked. It has been a few years since we all basked in the bizarre darkness of Black Mirror, and while we have been waiting, the production has clearly been using the time wisely to bring together a stellar cast for the show’s long-awaited return.

Revealed by Variety, Black Mirror Season 6 will star Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Paapa Essiedu (Gangs of London), Josh Hartnett (Wrath of Man, The Fear Index), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Kate Mara (Fantastic Four, Call Jane), Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Clara Rugaard (The Rising), Auden Thornton (This Is Us), and Anjana Vasan (We Are Lady Parts) as part of the cast. While Black Mirror has become well-known for bringing in the brightest and the best, the sixth season could well be the brightest and the best so far.

The report goes on to reveal that the likes of Joker and Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz, Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul, and the rest of the talented names mentioned here, will feature in three of the episodes that make up Black Mirror Season 6. So, expect more exciting casting news for the rest of the episodes to follow soon.

For those yet to discover the haunting exploration and commentary on contemporary, dystopian themes, Black Mirror is an anthology series that revolves around people’s personal lives and how technology manipulates their behavior. The first season consisted of three episodes the first of which was entitled The National Anthem, and begins when a member of the British royal family is kidnapped, with the kidnapper declaring that they will only be released if the British prime minister Michael Callow (Rory Kinnear) has sexual intercourse with a pig on live television. Which should tell you everything you need to know about the critically acclaimed show.

Black Mirror has been awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie three times, with season 5 released back in 2019.

Moving from the BBC to Netflix and now five seasons in, Black Mirror has consistently attracted major names, such as Daniel Kaluuya, Toby Kebbell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Hayley Atwell, Miley Cyrus, Jesse Plemons, Jon Hamm, Anthony Mackey, Michaela Coel, Will Poulter, and Jodie Whittaker among others.

Not much is yet known about the direction of Black Mirror Season 6, as secrecy is crucial to the series’ impact, but it has been described as “even more cinematic in scope,” with each episode being envisioned as an “individual film.”

Creator Charlie Brooker has been resistant to bringing Black Mirror back. Largely due to the harshness of reality over the last few years. “I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those,” he said in 2020. “I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”

Black Mirror Season 6 does not yet have a release date but will debut on Netflix. No doubt audiences cannot wait to see what Black Mirror Season 6 has in store.
