ACTRESS Tonto Dikeh has recently taken to social media to express her strong opposition to body shaming women.

On December 10, 2024, the divorced mother of one shared a thought-provoking statement on Instagram: “Before you body shame any woman, show us your mother.”

In her post, she elaborated on the hypocrisy surrounding body shaming, particularly towards women whose bodies undergo changes due to natural processes like childbirth.

She emphasised the need for self-reflection and empathy, urging people to consider the sacrifices and transformations that women, including their own mothers, often experience throughout life.

She wrote, “This statement highlights the hypocrisy of men/women who body-shame women, especially those whose physical changes result from natural processes like childbirth. It calls for self-reflection and empathy, reminding them to consider the sacrifices and transformations women, including their own mothers, often go through in life.”

“Body shaming in 2024???? That’s quite unsophisticated,” she added.

Her post sparked a variety of reactions from her followers, many of whom shared their insights on the issue.

One follower commented, “Most times, the body shaming comes from fellow women, and it’s so sad. 😢😢😢😢”
