Outspoken Plateau State clergyman, Rev Ezekiel Dachomo, on Thursday raised fresh alarm over an alleged threat to his life by Boko Haram terrorists, claiming the insurgent group has placed a bounty on his head.
Dachomo, who serves as the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, made the claim in a viral video shared on Thursday.
According to Dachomo, the threat followed his consistent stance against attacks on Christian communities in the Middle Belt and footage of killings, mass burials, and church attacks he has repeatedly publicised.
“Boko Haram, the Islamic terrorists, have placed a bounty on my head, and anyone who kills me first will be rewarded,” he said in the footage.
Naijaonpoint had earlier reported that his Facebook and Instagram accounts were recently taken down. At the same time, Meta has reportedly barred him from posting videos related to the killings of Christians, claiming such content could threaten Nigeria’s internal security.
However, Rev Ezekiel Dachomo maintained that his case was not based on rumour but what he described as “credible inside information.”
In the clip, he said Boko Haram was serious about eliminating him for calling attention to what he termed “Christian genocide” across Plateau State and the Middle Belt.
The clergyman said the threat was anticipated long before he began his advocacy, insisting that nothing, not even death, would stop him from speaking.
He said, “Before I embarked on this journey of exposing Christian genocide in Plateau and in Nigeria, I knew my life would be in danger, but I do not fear death.
“In fact, my death will be more dangerous to them than now that I am alive.
“This is not just about me; it is about every Nigerian who desires peace and safety. We need support to stand against this terrorism.”
